The Julio Romero de Torres Museum meets in Cordoba (Spain) the largest painter's collection in a XIX century building recently renovated. In this web you can browse the halls of the museum and view the exhibits.

En esta sala se recogen una serie de obras que representan al artista, como forma de acercarnos a su figura, como caricaturas de Julio Romero, esculturas del pintor y su padre (Rafael Romero Barros)

Familiar background: In this hall a series of works that represent the artist are gathered to bring us closer to him. There are charicateurs of Julio Romero as well as sculptures of the painter and of his father (Rafael Romero Barros)

Las obras de la primera época de Julio Romero de Torres están marcadas por el luminismo, y pasan por el modernismo y simbolismo hasta llegar al realismo que expresa en sus paisajes y bodegones.

The first period: works of Julio Romero Torres get influenced by the Luminism. The painter's work goes through Modernism and Symbolism until reaching the Realism, as his landscapes and still lifes show.

En esta sala, el protagonista es la particular visión mística del artista. Romero de Torres llevó a sus obras los temas clásicos de manera muy personal, y en muchas de sus obras otorgando una mezcla de espiritualidad e inusual sensualidad a las figuras.

En esta sala se pueden apreciar grandes obras de Julio romero de Torres como Nuestra Señora de Andalucía, La Nieta de la Trini y Alegrías. El tema principal que se trata es el flamenco y la copla.

Julio Romero de Torres fundamentalmente era retratista, con sus más de 500 retratos constituyó su producción, dedicándole a la mujer gran parte de sus obras.
