Esta escultura es el boceto del artista Juan Cristóbal González de Quesada.. Está fechado en el año 1934, realizado en bronce. Obtuvo el primer premio en el concurso público para la creación del monumento al pintor Julio Romero de Torres en Córdoba, sufragado por suscripción popular.

El monumento está situado en los jardines de Agricultura de Córdoba. El retrato muestra al pintor con su habitual estampa, cubierto con capa española.

Bust of Julio Romero de Torres

This sculpture is a model made in 1934 by the artist Juan Cristóbal González de Quesada. He won the first prize at the public contest to erect a monument dedicated to the painter Julio Romero de Torres in Córdoba. The monument was paid by public subscription and donations came from Córdoba, other cities of Spain and South America. Juan Cristóbal González Quesada did his first artistic studies in Granada and later he specialized in monumental sculpture in Madrid. The full-size bust is made of bronze and dated in 1934. Juan Cristóbal made a outline of of Julio Romero de Torres for the monument in the Gardens of Agriculture in Córdoba. The portrait shows the painter with his usual appearance, covered with the traditional Spanish cape and accompanied by his inseparable greyhound, Pacheco.
