Esta obra es el único bodegón existente con carácter temático en la obra pictórica de Julio Romero de Torres, a pesar de que en muchos de sus cuadros figuran elementos propios de esta especialidad pictórica siempre están en un segundo plano, puesto que, Romero de Torres trata el bodegón de forma peculiar, mezclando figuras muertas con la figura humana.
Se trata de un cuadro pintado al óleo y al temple, tal y como indica el mismo artista en su firma.
The Marquis’s Lunch
This work is the only existing still life of thematic nature within the painting artwork of Julio Romero de Torres. Although even many of his paintings contain typical elements of still lifes, they are always in the background. Romero de Torres worked with the still life concept in a particular way, combining it with the human figure.
This is an oil tempered canvas, as the visitor can see in the painter's signature.
