This piece belongs to the last period of the painter. It is a work from 1929, just one year before his death, when his technique and style were perfectly defined.

A young lady stands, nude, holding a bullfighter cape with her left hand that covers her legs. She is leaning against the door jamb, showing us a perfect anatomy nude. Romero de Torres is showing off the strength of his work. In her right hand she is holding a sprig of laurel, symbol of glory. With his right hand she is holding a bullfighter cape that covers her legs. Her bare feet rest on a marble slab that carries the names of the two masters of bullfighting: Lagartijo y Guerrita and Belmonte, from Seville.

This canvas, full of symbolism, has a composition impregnated with dramatic quality. In the background, there is a bullring whose entrance is the Madrid square. The dramatic quality is accentuated even more by a cross situated in the middle of an open square. There are thick black clouds that seem to foretell a tragic destiny. Romero de Torres tries to suggest in this painting the high price of fame and for this he uses the symbols of death which he uses with a mastery skill.
