Blessing is a portrait that Romero de Torres made around 1926, for which he first took María Teresa López as a model, also being the protagonist of Carmen, Mujer de Córdoba, Ángeles and La Chiquita piconera. The typology of the portrait conforms to that of the “good little girls”, to those popular portraits, practically entirely female, that we can link to the social and realist painter.

For this portrait, the painter places the model on a neutral background that constrains the model, of which he selects only the face and the beginning of shoulders that turn slightly, with the aim of reinforcing the strength of the expression and the naive look
